Commission Guidelines

What I will and will not do

I reserve the right to refuse any commissions that I am uncomfortable with or otherwise feel I cannot do, for any reason, including but not limited to:

-The subject matter is out of my skill range and I do not feel I can do it justice.
-The subject matter is offensive or otherwise makes me uncomfortable.
-The commissioner has a poor reputation.

I do not make "anatomically correct" suits. Please look elsewhere if you are looking for a suit for that purpose.

I will not make copyrighted characters. This extends to copyrighted characters with a few details changed. If you want a suit of another person's character, then please make sure you have their permission first in the form of an email to myself. If you have artwork that you wish to use as a character reference, please make sure you have the artist's permission to use it if it isn't yours.

I am willing to make suits in styles that are outside my usual - ie ultra-toony, anime, etc, but please bear in mind that my usual works are in the realistic to semi-toony range, and this is where I have the most experience.

Payment

At the moment I am currently accepting payment via Paypal only for most buyers. I regret that due to bank issues, I am currently unable to accept money orders. If this is a problem for you, please email me to work out an alternative.

UK customers also have the option of paying via cheque. Please note that the cheque must clear before I will start work.

To reserve a spot on my waiting list I require a deposit of 10% of the item's cost. This is non-refundable under any circumstances.

I will not begin work on the suit until I have received 50% of the item's cost. This is to cover the cost of materials. Should you change your mind before the supplies have been purchased, then this amount will be refunded minus your deposit. Once supplies have been purchased then this amount becomes non-refundable.

The final 50% plus shipping costs, of the item's cost is due upon completion of the suit, though you may choose to pay the full amount in advance if you wish. This amount is refundable should the commission be cancelled or for any other reason (see Refunds).

Shipping costs are determined upon completion of the item as it must be boxed up and weighed, but if you want a rough estimate beforehand then please contact me. Please note that no estimate can be a perfectly accurate representation of the final cost.

International (non-UK) customers please note: International shipping is both expensive and slow, especially for larger items such as full suits and partials that reach oversize status. I do not set the prices and I cannot guarantee a delivery date. If you want the suit to reach you by a certain date I will do all I can to ensure it does. However I am not responsible for high shipping costs or lost/delayed packages.

Deadlines and work status

When you inquire about a commission, I will give you an estimate of when I will be able to begin work on your suit. Please note that I will most likely also be dealing with people other than yourself, and placement in the waiting list is based on a first come, first serve basis. Please do not request to be moved up the waiting list - be respectful of those before you.

If you have a specific deadline in mind (ie a con or other event) then please let me know beforehand and I will let you know if it is reasonable based on how far in the future the event is and how much work I already have. As stated earlier, I cannot guarantee shipping times for non-UK customers. I will attempt to have the item sent a month in advance, which is enough time for the vast majority of cases, but I cannot be held responsible if the item is delayed.

If you do not give me a specific deadline then I will attempt to have your suit completed in a reasonable amount of time, no longer than two months from when I begin work if at all possible. However please note that this timeframe is not a guarantee and some suits may take longer depending on complexity or other real-life issues.

I will do my best to keep you updated on the status of your suit as it is worked on and supply progress photographs where possible. If you wish for a progress report at any time, please inquire politely and be patient. Do not be rude, harass me, email me constantly about your suites status, or make threats. If I feel I am being treated unpleasantly then I will give you a warning - if you continue to behave in such a way, your commission may be cancelled. Be aware that suit building is a skilled, time consuming activity and I will not make rush jobs for impatient customers.

Please provide a clear description of your character along with reference pictures if possible. I am not a mind-reader and cannot be held responsible if I miss out a design element that you did not inform me about beforehand. If you do not have a specific character in mind then I will be happy to help you design one.

Alterations

I do my best to ensure that each suit I build is up to standard and true to your character. As stated earlier I am not responsible for missing out on design elements that you did not inform me of. For example, if your character has earrings and you did not tell me this, then that is your responsibility.

However if you receive the suit and find that there are problems such as a design element that I forgot to include (ie: you told me your character has earrings, but the suit didn't include them) or measurement mistakes, then I will be happy to fix them for free. You will cover the cost of returning the item to me, and I will cover the cost of sending it back once the alterations are complete. To cut down on costs, therefore, please only send the item that you need altering and not any other parts. I will not do multiple alterations - should the item still not be satisfactory once it is returned, then there is nothing more I will do. Please let me know everything that needs to be fixed at the time.

While I am normally happy to make alterations to ensure your suit is entirely satisfactory, I reserve the right to refuse to do so should I feel your request is unreasonable.

Refunds

As stated before, your initial 10% deposit on a suit is non-refundable under any circumstances. Your first 50% payment is only refundable (minus your deposit) if I have not yet purchased supplies at the time of the refund.

Refunds will be given if:

-I am unable for whatever reason to complete the commission. Please note that this is highly unlikely, as I will make every effort to make sure that your suit is completed for you even if I am delayed.
-The commission is cancelled for other reasons - for example I cancel it because you are being unduly rude toward me and continue to do so after warning.
-You are unable to complete payment due to unforseen financial problems. I am, however, willing to put commissions on hold for up to three months if you wish to resume payment once your problems are cleared. If you still cannot resume payment at the end of this period, then you will be refunded.

Refunds may be issued for other circumstances if I feel your request is valid. If you change your mind and decide you don't want a suit, I will not return your money. Fursuits are expensive items, so please make sure you are certain before you order.
