A lot of my ideas start with an interesting fur discovery, and this particular suit is a good example. I found an unusual long pile fur being used as cushion trim - at a distance it looked pinkish, close up, it was revealed to be rainbow (sadly, the photos don't show just how lovely it is, this whole suit looks much better in person). I knew it would make for an interesting suit, so I brought some of the cushions and came up with a design for it later. I love the rainbow/black combination - it turns something that had the possibility to be garish into something that doesn't look too bad.I had some fun with my iridescent medium for this - all those bits that look white (horns, claws, and teeth) actually have a slight sheen to them. Sadly, the camera ate that too. This poor thing just doesn't photograph well.
